Pursuit of Excellence ~ Colt Starting
The Trainer - Brett Guerrieri
My approach to training is always evolving as I strive to get better and get more out of my horses. I think what sets me apart from many trainers is my open-mindedness toward different types of horses. I enjoy adapting my style to fit each horse in a way that helps them perform at their best, and I believe this has really paid off over the years. That said, I do have a few key pillars my system is based on.
With 8 years of outside training experience under leading trainers such as Andrea Fappani (NRHA & NRCHA), Casey Deary (NRHA), Grant Setnicka (NCHA), and Corey Cushing (NRCHA) I am dedicated to furthering my profession.
I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to start Futurity Champions:
NRHA 2024 Non-Pro Futurity Champion WISH I WAS YOURS, bred, raised, and shown by Tish Fappani
NRCHA 2022 Open Futurity Champion REYSEMHIGH, shown by Corey Cushing
Colt Starting
Maintaining a strong 2-year program
Horses in training ridden 5 to 6 times per week
Solid groundwork establishes a strong foundation
Keeping an open mind to the mindset and capabilities of each individual horse
Emphasis on the importance of collectiveness, softness, and willingness
Cutting, Reined Cow Horse, All-Around Horse Training & Boarding, Lessons
Focused on classical riding principles. Those principles are the pillars of a foundation without fear or a mechanically forced position.
This training approach allows the horse to achieve self-carriage, balance, a correct muscle development, and a confident understanding of the riders aids.
A horse with a good classical foundation will learn faster, be consistent, and be “soft” in any situation.
Our Facilities - Poolville, Texas
We have fresh cattle and buffalo, a cutting flag, an outdoor lighted arena with viewing stand, round pen access, and pasture turnout..
Horse Training Excellence
"We believe, there’s nothing greater than performance built on trust, understanding and consistency that enables the horse to develop all muscles needed to become an athlete. The result will always be a horse that is pleasant to ride, a better mover, much less prone to injuries, and more willing to fill in for your mistakes."
